Last Chemo

Yes, it has been a long time since I posted. I'm so sorry, but this last chemo really kicked my butt! I was so much more tired than ever before, but I had been warned that would happen.

Now that chemo is over...I have most of my hair left, 20 extra pounds to deal with, and the acne of a teenager. Nice. But, IT'S OVER!!!

The last chemo appointment was a melancholy moment (6 hours, whatever). I was so excited that I was there for the last time, but Dr. D filled us in on some "what ifs." Now, I know that was probably on his "to do list" for the last appointment, but I sort of wish he had that discussion with us somewhere in the middle. I just wanted to celebrate, and he was kind of a downer. BUT, I know those were things that we needed to talk about.

So, for the time being... I get to go to Dr. D's office every 6 weeks to have the port flushed. I have a PET scan every three months. And, I go to Dr. D's office every 6 months for two years for a maintenance Antibody treatment. Dr. D says this has recently been shown to lengthen remission times.

Again, I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to post, again. I just haven't the energy to do much. This past weekend, I started getting some of my energy back. DH and I went on a Marriage Encounter weekend. DD #2 has a birthday party this weekend to celebrate her 5th birthday which falls on the 18th. DD #1 has a slumber party the following weekend to celebrate her 8th birthday which falls on the 28th. So, it looks like I got my energy back just in time.

Hope this finds all of you happy and healthy! Love and God Bless!
