The Results

First of all, let me say that I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did! In fact, it was just amazing! Lots of family time, and the girls had a magical time!

So, we got the PET scan results, today. Dr. D said that my labs were great. He said the PET scan showed some activity in my lower back and chest, but nothing showed up on the CAT scan. He explained that a PET scan is very sensitive, and will pick up lots of stuff, including infection and inflammation. He reassured me (about ten times at DH's insistence) that this was nothing to worry about. In fact, there are no lymph nodes in the spinal area.

He also noted that I had gained weight, (DUH!), but that's a good thing! He said that only your oncologist will be excited to see you gain weight. He said weight gain is a very good sign. So there's my silver lining, I guess!

OH! He also said that the "activity" on the PET may be my bone marrow rejuvenating. So, anyway, he wants me to come back for a PET scan in 3 months. And, that's the schedule that he set forth from the beginning.

All in all, not bad. I would have liked to have heard that they saw nothing on the PET, but since Dr. D said not to worry, I'm going to do my best!
