Huntsville Botanical Gardens

The botanical gardens in Huntsville, Alabama has a "Dogwood Trail." On this trail stands a 100 year old Dogwood tree. This tree was transplanted into the garden in May of 1995, after being moved from an old homestead not far from where I live. The transplant of this amazing tree made quite a stir around here, and you can read about it on their website.

I am sure that at some point, I saw this tree bloom in its original location...however, I don't recall it. (Being young and stupid, I'm sure I overlooked it.) For the past few years, I have wanted to see it in all of its glory, but for one reason or another, I missed it.

This year, as soon as I noticed the Dogwoods in our neighborhood blooming, I started making plans for the family to go on Sunday (April 9). Those of you living here know we had some amazing storms on Friday, and, besides being terrified of the weather, I was little ticked off that the blooms on the Dogwood would be blown to smithereens.

Well, never fear... of storms or loss of blossoms! The tree was an amazing sight to see!

And, my photograph doesn't do it justice! The grounds were swarming with people coming to see it! I am thrilled that we got to see it.

And...here's a photo of the ladies enjoying all that the Botanical Gardens has to offer...

And....

My life is full of so many blessings!
