First Day of School
Where did the summer go? Really...what happened?
I was talking with friends the other day, and it is astonishing to all of us how fast the summer speeds by. When I was a kid, we were never in school for Memorial Day, and, at least until college, I was never in school on my birthday (August 19). Now, kids are in school through Memorial Day, and they return the first week or so of August! Crazy.
Those of us in Alabama are thinking we should ask the Governor to sign into law that the school runs from the week after Labor Day through the first part of June. At least that way, the kids aren't in school sweating through the first month. Imagine the savings when the schools aren't running air conditioners full blast!
Well, DD#2 has started Kindergarten. I was a little weepy. (JS, I am not a wuss!) Kindergarten is a big step for her. She's still adjusting, but she loves it.
DD#1, of course, took it all in stride. She got a little upset that we couldn't walk her to her classroom, but she's a big Third Grader, now, and there are rules about that.
Here's a picture of each beautiful lady on the first day....

I'd like to thank all the ladies that met for breakfast on the first day! I had a blast, and felt much better after having some "Girl Time." You know I love you, all!
I hope that everyone had a blessed summer, and a great first day of school!
